Toji Temple
Toji Temple, which is registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site, is the only building preserved from Heiankyo period. It is famous for its tallest five-storied pagoda in Japan, and for its Fujizakura cherry tree, which is over 130 years old. The flea market is held every month.
Kyoto Aquarium
In the exhibition area “River of Kyoto” you can try various experiences of getting close to water creatures. You can enjoy the real ecosystem of the “Osanshouo” (Japanese giant salamander), the special natural treasure in Japan.
Fushimi Inari Shrine
This shrine is famous for its thousands of Torii gates. You can walk up through them to the main shrine in the Inari Forest. Many statues of foxes are standing in the precincts of the temple, as foxes were believed to be messengers of Gods.
Kiyomizudera Temple
Built in 780. It is registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site and is famous for its wooden stage about 13m high. Beautiful scenery such as cherry blossoms, maple trees, and a panorama of Kyoto spans under your eyes.
Nishiki-Ichiba Market
This market is called “Kyoto’s kitchen” and has a history of several centuries. It is always crowded with people who taste, watch, and shop for fresh seasonal ingredients of Kyoto cuisine.
Gion
This area is known as Kyoto’s representative amusement area and is also famous for the town of first-class geisha. There are many shops and restaurants where you can enjoy traditional wooden townhouses and authentic Japanese dinners.
Yasaka Shrine
This shrine is dedicated to a guardian deity of the eastern part of Kyoto, which is nicknamed “Gion-san.” Its main hall painted in red on the outside is eye-catching. The holy water of this shrine, called “Chikaramizu” (power water) is also very popular.
Nijo-jo Castle
Nijo Castle served as Shogun’s base in Kyoto during the Tokugawa Shogunate Era. The luxurious architecture and interior of the Palace Ninomaru Goten (national treasure) are spectacular. It is registered as a World Heritage Site.
Heian Jingu Shrine
The shrine painted in vermilion, which imitates the government office of Heian Capital is beautiful and elegant, with the largest Torii gate in Kyoto. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of every season in its vast garden.
Nanzenji Temple
This temple is the main temple of Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. There are plenty of things to see, such as Sanmon, which offers a panoramic view of Kyoto, the Hojo Garden is a national treasure, and Suirokaku is an arch bridge made of brick.
Ryoanji Temple
This temple is famous for its rock garden of Karesansui-style, where you can feel the heart of Zen, and it is a world cultural heritage. There are 15 stones of different sizes laying in a garden of 248 square meters, but the gardener’s name and intentions remain unknown.
Kinkakuji Temple
This temple was built as an alternative residence of Shogun Yoshimitsu Ashikaga during the Muromachi Shogunate. It is the most famous temple in Japan for its gorgeous decoration in gold leaf and its beautiful reflections in the water of Kagamiko Pond.

Tea ceremony experience
A special time to reconsider oneself through “Wabicha”It is a tearoom of Uji tea shop founded more than 140 years ago, where you can experience tea ceremony. The sessions are guided by tea ceremony instructors qualified as “Japanese Tea Instructors” and “Urasenke Professors”, who will show you how to make and drink Matcha from the basics.
